Interviewing Yourself As Lead Magnet

One of the easiest and effortless ways you could build a lead magnet is to create an online course that interviews yourself and answers a series of questions from your prospective audience.

Interview yourself (or have someone else interview you) on video and create a series of videos that explains specific lessons that you’ve learned working within your niche.

This strategy works particularly well if you want to explain mistakes that are easy to make, strategies people can follow for success, or unique perspectives that provide valuable insight into what it takes to accomplish results in your niche.

1. We're going to create a course on Kajabi Next and call it "My Answers To Your Top Questions."  

2. After filling out our basic details and uploading our course branding, we'll start adding our lessons to the course.  Each lesson will revolve around a different question that is often asked.

You can see where this course is going.  Each section and each lesson will answer a different question.  Also, while this course makes use of video, you are not restricted to just that - you can answer questions in any form you want (text, audio, pdf's, etc.).

3. After we fill out the rest of our course with questions, we're now going to set the price of our course.  As this course will be used as a lead magnet, we're going to set the price to 0.  

4.  Now, we're going to create our Sales Page.  Your sales copy and video is your chance to persuade your prospects to sign up.

There you have it!  You now have an easy lead magnet by only answering questions to help generate more sales.

An important note: If you choose this strategy, remember to keep the perspective focused on your prospects and not yourself. Yes, it is an interview and you need to focus on your experience and perspective, but you need to frame that perspective around what your audience can learn or apply from it.

The biggest lead magnet mistake that people make is focusing on their own experience or problems instead of the problems of their audience. You can talk about problems that you’ve faced, but you need to frame those problems to show how your audience can overcome them.

Once you've put together your online course-based lead magnet, you're going to want to add your students to your email list for future marketing purposes.
